This Sunday, Alix and Ellen will be hosting the first McKelvy Discussion of the year!! The discussion will be about the situation that occurred this past spring in which the MFA students at USC’s Roski School of Art and Design withdrew from the school due to unreconcilable grievances with the administration. We will also expand this into a conversation that speaks more generally about the responsibility of both the administration and the students and the dynamic that exists between them.
Before attending discussion, please read the two articles below. One is an article which summarizes the events at USC, and the other contains a letter written by the students who chose to withdraw from the institution.

Food will probably be Indian food because it looks like I can order that online and don’t have to pick up the phone and talk to another human.
Feel free to invite anyone else you think might be interested!
