Melanie Audelo-Riaño

Hey! I’m Melanie Audelo-Riano (She/Her) and I am a junior. I am from Asbury Park, New Jersey! I’m a premed biochemistry major and planning to minor in either Sociology and Anthropology or Biotechnology/Bioengineering! On campus, I am the Vice President for the Hispanic Finance Association, the Secretary for the Latino Medical Student Association, the Vice President of the Women’s Network, and the Treasurer of Raíces! I am also involved in biochemistry research in the chemistry department. I love doing all arts and crafts, baking, reading books, watching movies, and spending time outdoors! I also love meeting and learning about new people so if you see me feel very welcome to say hi!

Whats up! My name is Gwen, and I am an economics major and data science minor. I’m pretty involved here at Lafayette, as I am director of Late Night Programming for Lafayette Activities Forum, president of Spikeball Club, in Greek Life, and a Supplemental Instructor in the econ department! In McKelvy, I am the treasurer, aka making money moves. I am so stoked to hang out with all the scholars, old and new, and learn so much this year!

 

Genevieve Chukwuonye

Salut!! I’m Genevieve and I’m a junior Biochemistry major with a (hopeful) minor in music! I was born and raised in Nigeria but I now live in the UK with my family. I’m the Vice president of Newman Catholic Association this year (huge shoutout), General Chemistry Supplemental Instructor, involved in chemistry research, Resident Advisor, loyal ISA lover, chronically addicted to all things mango, and I’m in choir groups with the Music Department (yes….I know that was a mouthful, take this time to breathe). If I’m not in my dorm or Colton Chapel, you would either see me in Gilbert’s with an iced lavender matcha latte, floating around the halls of Hugel, or practicing in the Williams Center (sorry not sorry for the screeching violin sounds). I’m so hyped for McKelvy because it’s such a rich intellectual community! Looking forward to another great year :)

Sandra Djayeola

Cou cou!! My name is Sandra and I am a junior Computer Science and Gov Law with French double major (potential WGSS minor). I am a DC Posse Scholar from Silver Spring, MD (so basically DC) but I am also proud to represent both Côte D’Ivoire and Benin! I love doing art, talking (a lot), and watching courtroom k-dramas :P. I am the Vice President of Women in Computing, Event Coordinator for Colorstack, and Social Media Chair for LACSA. I work as a Student Intern in the Hanson Center for Inclusive STEM Education, as a Writing Associate for an FYS, and also as a nail artist for students on campus (you should definitely check out @sandythenailfairy on ig)! In the house, I love being in the study and spacing out at the windows on the 2nd floor. Additionally, I am the Internal Chair for the McKelvy Executive Board and am super super excited to plan House events. I am so excited to be apart of the program and can’t wait to contribute to a greater campus and house community. If you ever see me on campus, definitely say hi!! <3

Jazzlyn dominguez

Hi hi bosses!! My name is Jazzlyn (she/her) but you can call me Jazz. I am a Junior double major in Biology and Anthropology & Sociology with hope of attending Dental School (pray for me). I’m from Washington D.C and this will be my first year in the greatest Mchouse and as a Recruitment co-chair!! Besides McKelvy, I am a Posse Scholar, Lab Teaching Assistant for Biology 111 and 112, treasurer for Pre-dental Society, Vice President of Communications for Combating Human Trafficking Initiative, Mentor Coordinator for First Generation at Lafayette, and I am part of the Biology Inclusion Committee Newspaper! When I do have free time you can find me scrapbooking (I make everyone do it at least once), painting, or obsessing over The Hunger Games!! When I’m in the Mchouse you can find me in the study (50/50 studying or getting distracted…GULP). I’m so so excited to be part of a great community with AMAZING people. Alex Rodriguez

Hi everyone! I’m Alex, also known as Arod! I’m a junior neuroscience major with a minor in biotechnology/bioengineering. I’m from North Carolina and enjoy paddle boarding, reading, and visiting coffee shops in my free time. I originally applied to the McKelvy Scholars Program looking for a home away from home and found that and more here. My favorite part of being a scholar is attending community dinners and hearing about what everyone is up to. Besides being a co-chair for McKelvy Recruitment, I’m also a Writing Associate and EXCEL Research Scholar on campus.

Hellllllllo everybody my name is Yoryi and today we’re gonna be reading through this bio. I’m a Peruvian-American and currently double majoring in both Economics and Applied Mathematics. I’m a part of multiple groups on campus, such as the external chair of McKelvy,  Co-President of Salsa Club, SHEP team member of DCF, CaPA Scholar, Posse Scholar, LIME Mentor, Rec Services worker, etc. (No etc that’s honestly it) for on Campus, and I work at a non-profit called Amazolar (started here at Lafayette actually (it’s really cool and I would love if you can support it!)). This house has been by far the best dorm, place, concert venue, etc. on campus because of the scholars here. I was always worried about finding a home on campus, and this program has shown that I can be at home somewhere. I’m so happy to be a part of this community where my ideas and values are accepted and shared! I’m also just really silly and love to engage in this community in any way that I can!

Hi! My name is Libby Ross. I am a sophomore Math and Gov/Law double major. Here on campus, I am the secretary of the Equestrian Team and the Salsa Club. I’m also a Dyer Fellow and a Marquis Fellow, and I work as a tour guide for admissions. In the Easton community, I help with the Wild and Holy program at College Hill Presbyterian Church, and I tutor at March Elementary through the America Reads program. I’m really excited for all of the interesting discussions my fellow scholars have planned, and studying in all of the random nooks and crannies throughout the house! Looking forward to a great first year in the house!

Hi! My name is Katie Twiggar and I’m a junior studying Integrative Engineering and International Studies. Aside from being a McKelvy Scholar, on campus I am involved in research and a few student organizations like the Lafayette Outdoors Society (LOSt) and Alpha Phi Sorority. The McKelvy house’s library is my favorite place to read, especially in the mornings as the sun is rising. I am excited for all of the creative community events and discussions we will be having this year and hope to see you there!
